Hail, Rain Hit Clint

Severe thunderstorm warnings from the National Weather Service started at about 4 p.m. The thunderstorm caused streets to flood and made for low visibility for many drivers.

In a matter of minutes a sunny day in Clint turned into a storm with rain, strong winds and hail.

"It's unbelivable," said Clint resident Suzanne Esparza.

The town of Clint experienced marble-sized hail and 20 mph wind gusts that had some residents holding on to their possessions.

"Most people embrace it when it starts raining because it's usually 100 degrees out here. It's a change," said Chris Mesa, a Clint resident.

The rain came down hard and it kept some people inside their vehicles. Several families were waiting for the storm to pass before driving away.

"It started hailing and it's difficult to get around. It could cause accidents," said Esparza.

Some streets around Clint flooded within minutes.

"Some streets do get flooded especially where I live, streets get covered with water and cuz of that it turns into mud. It gets pretty nasty," said Mesa.
