A group of soldiers at Fort Bliss have learned they'll be deploying to the Middle East a month early.
The 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division will leave for Iraq in late October, which is one month earlier than planned.
The division will serve a year of combat duty.
According to the Defense Department, the adjustment is necessary to maintain the current force structure in Iraq into the spring of next year.
