EL PASO COUNTY, Texas —

At 6:11 a.m. Friday, a Fort Hancock School District school bus was involved in an accident that sent six children to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office officials said the bus was struck by a Jobe truck that failed to yield the right-of-way.

The bus driver was transporting 20 students back to Fort Hancock, Texas after picking up other students in the Hueco Village area at Hudsbeth County, officials said.

The 54-year-old driver of the Jobe truck was cited for failing to yield right-of-way/left turn.
