FBI Cracks Down On Gangs

The Federal Bureau of Investigations has arrested hundreds of people, including an unknown number in El Paso, in a two-week crackdown on gang activity.

The FBI reported 108 federal arrests and 47 state arrests across 12 FBI field offices, including El Paso.

The majority of these individuals are charged with conspiracy to distribute narcotics and various weapons violations.

This news comes just a day after County Attorney Jose Rodriguez told KFOX the gang problem in El Paso is growing.

Specifically, he said the Barrio Azteca gang has expanded to more than 2,000 members.
