EL PASO, Texas —
Eddie Solis lost his daughter on Tuesday in a tragic accident.
Michelle Solis, 11, and Sandy Hernandez, 11, were hit by a pickup truck while crossing Lee Boulevard outside of their school.
Police have said the girls were running against the light and the driver was not at fault.
Solis points out that there was a large distance between Lee Boulevard on the north side of Edgemere and Lee Boulevard south of Edgemere. Solis said that distance should’ve provided enough time for the driver of the truck to see the kids and slow down.
Solis and his family measured the distance between where Michelle was hit and where her body landed so he could take that to police and have them investigate further.
"It's quite a distance for someone not being able to react and the damage was pretty extensive on the vehicle," Solis said.
Solis said he wants closure and justice for his daughter’s death.
Hernandez is out of the hospital.
