EL PASO, Texas —

A woman that died after she was struck by a car was identified by police.

Judith Yeager, 47, was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after she was hit by a car in far east El Paso, said El Paso police Sgt. Chris Mears.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Tierra Este Road and Tierra Limpia Drive, just south of Edgemere Boulevard, in front of the Evolve Credit Union.

"What we know at this point is a female was crossing Tierra Este," said Mears, "We don't know yet which direction, but she was crossing Tierra Este, when she was struck by a Saturn that was being driven south bound."

The driver of the vehicle, Diana Douglas, remained at the scene,  said Mears.

Yeager was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where she was pronounced dead."

The impact left cracks on the car's windshield, and broke the driver's side view mirror with the woman’s purse was left lying on the ground.

Yeager lived in the area, according to police.

The driver was taken in for questioning and later let go, said police.

Police do not suspect speed and alcohol to be factors in this crash.  No charges have been filed.
