Isabelle Perez, 3, is the only survivor in a tragic shooting that left her hospitalized in critical condition.

Isabelle's mom, Mayra Perez a former Canutillo resident, shot her three children before taking her own life earlier this week in their Denver home, according to Denver police officials.

Isabelle along with her two siblings and mom were found early Wednesday by her dad, Ricky Perez.

In a written statement, Ricky thanked the El Paso community for their support during this ordeal.

"The family asks for privacy as we deal with the tragic death of three family members. We don't understand why this happened, and at this time we are focusing our energies on grieving the loss of three loved ones while supporting Isabel's care. We appreciate the support we continue to receive from the Denver and El Paso communities during this incredibly difficult time."

KFOX14 spoke with Isabelle's aunts, Mayra's sisters that live in El Paso Thursday.

They said Isabelle's condition is improving, and that she opened her eyes in the hospital Thursday.
