El Paso County Sheriff's Office

FABENS, Texas —

Grace Arenas said two victims of a fatal car crash on Monday were her grandsons, Aaron Arenas, 5, and Caiden Barnes, 4. She held a picture of the two boys and even though she wanted to tell people about them, she could barely speak because of her emotional pain.

"They were just full of life, just typical boys," Arenas said. "I mean, they were together like glue. People called them twins because they were so close in age."

Arenas said the Barnes family, who lost four members and a family friend are very close with her family.

"The Barnes family was very close and very loving," Arenas said. "Candace took them to Houston for vacation."

Candace Barnes, 48, and her daughter Britney Barnes, 25, were also killed in the crash. Family friend, Faith Torres, 12, survived.

Crystal Barnes was the mother of the 4- and 5-year-old. She is also Candace's other daughter. Crystal was not involved in the crash, she told KFOX that her sister, Jessica Barnes, 13, survived but is in very bad shape. She did not want to comment other than to say her two boys used to say, "Mommy loves you way up a sky." That phrase had a special meaning to them.

Britney Barnes had twin babies, Bethanie and Bryleigh Barnes. Bryleigh survived and Bethanie did not.
