EL PASO, Texas —
The new interim superintendent is a former Anthony Independent School District superintendent.
The El Paso Independent School District named Vernon Butler the new interim superintendent.
Vernon will begin on Oct. 1, 2012.
He was a superintendent with Anthony ISD and served as interim superintendent of Yslesa ISD.
"What I think we need to do is have Mr. Vernon come in and take charge," Board President Isela Castañon-Williams said.
Currently, the EPISD board is looking to hire a permanent superintendent by March 2013 at the latest.
