According to our media partners at the El Paso Times the Three Legged Monkey bar has won its legal battle and will stay at the Hawkins Plaza.

The Times reports that U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Christopher Mott ruled that the Three Legged Monkey could stay as long as it paid any debts and personal property taxes it may owe within 30 days.

The city of El Paso had tried to revoke owner Mike Armstrong’s lease at Hawkins Plaza because of ongoing problems with the Three Legged Monkey’s customers and complaints from neighbors.

In May the city entered into a $2.9 million agreement with the Patriot Place to purchase the shopping center that would have forced the bar out.

The agreement between the city and Patriot Place was not approved because it did not meet bankruptcy code provisions after Mike Armstrong and Patriot Place filed for bankruptcy.
