Elementary School Flooded

July 31, 2006 —

Flooding creates problems at one local school, preparing to welcome back students for the first day of class.

The water never went inside Santa Teresa Elementary School but did fill a ponding area outside.

Crews with the Gadsden School District said they had to work quickly because of the continuous rain.

They also wanted to have the area dry before the first day of school, which starts on Tuesday in the Gadsden district.

It took three hours to clear the ponding area and school administrators said Santa Teresa Elementary should open without a hitch Tuesday morning.
