LORDSBURG, N.M. —
State police responded to the crash around 4 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 10.
Officers told KFOX 67-year-old Manuel Hernandez of El Paso was driving a GMC van when a tire blew out and he lost control.
Gloria Valdez-Hernandez, 66, was thrown out of the van and pronounced dead on the scene.
State police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but no one in the van was wearing a seatbelt.
