September 27, 2006 —

El Paso is on another obesity list but this one is good news for the Sun City.

A study sponsored by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said El Paso tied with Austin for having the lowest obesity rate in Texas at 22 percent.

Another study by a Texas university finds El Paso County has one of the lowest rates of overweight children in the state.

The state of Texas recently recognized the Paso Del Norte Health Foundation for its campaign to reduce the rate of obesity in El Paso and the foundation believes these latest surveys prove the campaign is working.
