El Paso, Las Cruces residents among 20 arrested for drug-trafficking pipeline

EL PASO, Texas —

Federal agents arrested several people in the borderland allegedly involved in conspiracies to distribute marijuana and cocaine from Mexico to the United States 

Barbara Rascon-Pena and Giselle Aragon were arrested in El Paso and Eidolfo Dominguez-Lopez, David Garcia Jr., Gilbert Hinojosa, Martha Gomez, Michelle Marquez and Mauricio Chaparro were arrested in Las Cruces. They will make their first court appearances in Las Cruces federal court Friday morning. 

Twenty people in total are facing multiple charges for drug trafficking and money laundering, according to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. 

Indictments state that some of the members of the conspiracy used pickup trucks to transport bulk quantities of marijuana and cocaine from Mexico to various states including New Mexico. The documents list numerous counts of money laundering and drug trafficking.
