El Paso Gas Prices On The Rise

EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso and Las Cruces drivers are starting to reach deeper in their pockets to pay for gas. Gas prices around the Sun City and the City of Crosses are on the rise.

A survey conducted by AAA found that El Paso drivers paid an average of $2.39 for a regular gallon of unleaded gasoline on Thursday, that’s 1.5 cents higher than the day before. It is the highest average price in Texas, based on the cities that AAA surveys in Texas.

On Sunday KFOX found gas prices were as high as $2.45 for a regular gallon in east El Paso. However, it is still less than the $3.80 El Pasoans were paying one year ago, according to GasBuddy.com.

In Las Cruces the survey found that gas prices went up 1.2 cents from Wednesday to Thursday. The average in Las Cruces is $2.37 and state average in New Mexico is $2.46. In Las Cruces Sunday, KFOX found gas prices as high as $2.59 for a regular gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

The U.S. average gas price is $2.44.
