El Paso fire department investigating suspicious dumpster fires

By Mateo Arnold

EL PASO, Texas —

The fire department is investigating a series of suspicious dumpster fires.  Officials said they believe the fires are all being deliberately set.

Our KFOX 14 camera crews were first on the scene of one of the fires, on Shadow Mountain Road.  The fire was very close to an apartment complex.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out just seconds after they arrived.

As we reported back on Dec. 17, 2012, six trash bins were set on fire in west El Paso within 30 minutes.

At that time, a witness told investigators a green Jeep Cherokee was seen speeding away from the area.

Anyone with information about any of these fires is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477.
