El Paso Diabetes Association Opens New Facility

With all their success the El Paso Diabetes Association held a grand opening for a brand new facility in downtown El Paso Thursday.

The association said they work hand in hand with those living with diabetes and those at risk for the disease.

With diabetes being one of the fastest growing challenges affecting the borderland, the association says even with its success its mission continues to grow stronger.

"First you need to screen yourself to make sure either, if your at risk or you have diabetes, because there are people that walk around and don't know it until their eyes get blurry or they start feeling weak and fatigued. So the earlier we know that you're showing signs the more we can do," said Henry Brutus, the CEO of the El Paso Diabetes Association.

The El Paso Diabetes Association offers several programs to educate and treat diabetes.

The facility is located at 1220 Montana Avenue.
