EL PASO, Texas —

Monday morning, El Paso County Commissioners are set to "discuss and take appropriate action" to issue a new order banning outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of El Paso County for 90 days.

According the county agenda, the topic is back up for discussion because of the continued threat of extreme wildfires.

The order was first issued by the Commissioners Court on April 18th, and reissued on July 11th  and October 31st.

As KFOX14 has reported, fire leaders said it can be extremely difficult to contain wildfires with windy conditions. Saturday, El Paso's Westside saw gusts of nearly 47 miles per hour, as crews battled and contained a small brush fire.

This item was submitted by County Judge Veronica Escobar. Commissioners' court begins Monday morning at 9:30 at City Hall.
