EL PASO, Texas —

The El Paso City Council held a special session on Thursday that detailed what was accomplished in 2012 and laid out the city's strategic plan for the next three years.

On this year's agenda is building the baseball stadium, relocating city offices and establishing a committee to oversee the disbursement of the Quality of Life Bonds approved by voters in the November 2012 election. The bonds include $245 million for city parks and recreation areas.

"People have been asking for us to increase the number of playing fields in the parks and to continue rehabbing the existing parks. Those were the most demanded things the community said they wanted to see in the bond issue," said El Paso Mayor John Cook.

Cook said that in the next 30 days, the city will roll out a list of what else it hopes to accomplish in the coming years.
