EL PASO, Texas —

Police said they witnessed a drug deal in east El Paso during the day Monday.

El Paso police officers said they saw a drug transaction go down at 10000 Album Ave at about 2 p.m.

A man according to police, walked up to a purple Mazda that was stopped on the street. They said they suspected it was a drug deal when they saw the man interact with the driver, 19-year-old Alejandra Munoz.

The police officers then asked for a marked unit to assist. Munoz was pulled over for a traffic violation, said police.

During the investigation, police said they found 17 baggies of cocaine and five ounces of marijuana in Munoz's possession.

Munoz was placed under arrest and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $16,500 bond.
