District: El Dorado High School student carried BB pistol on campus

EL PASO, Texas —
An El Dorado High School student was detained Tuesday morning after the student was found with a BB pistol on campus, district officials said. According to Daniel Escobar, a spokesperson for the Socorro Independent School District, the school received reports that a student may have carried a gun on campus. Campus police detained the student, who was found to be in possession of a BB pistol, Escobar said. Parents were notified about the incident, and the student will be disciplined according to the district's code of conduct, Escobar said.
