Dispatch Sends Police To Possible Shooting Near School

KFOX hears police reports over the scanner about a possible shooting, sending El Paso police to Tippin Elementary around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A police spokesman said his their department received phone calls from someone saying there was an individual with a gun at Tippin Elementary.

Students who were let out of Franklin Middle told KFOX they knew about the incident because their teacher had received a text message.

“That Horneadeo was going into lockdown because there were three people with rifles and Franklin was going into lockdown and locking all the doors except the front doors,” Franklin High School student Kristina Norton.

As of 5 p.m. police are looking into the incident.
