EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies made more than 20 arrests during a spring break drunken driving enforcement period last week.

The Sheriff's Office conducted one of four annual drunken driving enforcement waves from March 8 through March 17.

During that time, deputies focused on alcohol-related offenses in order to prevent or decrease the number of car accidents that could have been deadly or caused serious injuries.

Deputies made 13 driving while intoxicated arrests, as well as arrests for five traffic warrants, one possession of marijuana, one family violence warrant and one drunken driving warrant, officials said.
