EL PASO COUNTY, Texas —

A 911 hangup led to the arrest of a man accused of kidnapping his ex-wife in San Elizario, deputies said.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to the hangup at the 12200 block of Quetzal Drive, and when they arrived, the 30-year-old victim ran out of the residence.

Deputies said that sometime between 11 p.m. and midnight Tuesday, the woman was taken from her residence by her ex-husband and forced into a black truck after she tried to retrieve items from her car.

The woman was assaulted by her ex-husband, who was identified as Cesar Sandoval, 42, deputies said.

Deputies said the victim was taken to Sandoval's residence where she was kept from calling 911, but she was able to.

Sandoval was charged with kidnapping and assault causing bodily injury family violence. His bail totaled $25,000.
