Dedicated E.R. facility successful in east El Paso

By Kandolite Flores

EL PASO, Texas —

Sierra Medical Health Network opened the first standalone E.R. in the city in February in response to rapid growth in east El Paso.

The facility has gotten praise from area residents, including Ken Persinger, who brought his daughter in after she had a bad allergic reaction to ant bites.

"It's in good proximity to my house and it turned out to be the very best choice for my daughter," he said.

Rob Anderson, director of business development, said the facility is not a hospital. It is a standalone center for easy access.

"It's been great for the community," Anderson said. "It's established to decompress the E.R.s that are here and the wait times."
