In April, a truck driver was carrying a trailer filled with ammunition when he says he accidentally made a wrong turn into Mexico. He's been jailed across the border ever since.

It's been an excruciating seven months for the family of Jabin Bogan, who's been in a maximum security prison in Veracruz, Mexico since April. But soon, they may finally have him back, for good.

Bogan's mother, her attorney and Bogan's girlfriend arrived in El Paso Thursday morning feeling hopeful they would see Bogan.

Last week, a federal judge overseeing the case told our media partners, the El Paso Times, that Bogan could be set free after paying a $1,500.

At one time, Bogan faced up to 30 years in jail on an ammunition trafficking charge.

In April, Bogan had just made two deliveries in El Paso and was headed to Phoenix to make another when he says he got lost. When he realized he'd crossed into Mexico, Bogan says he attempted to turn back but couldn't, without passing an inspection station. Mexican prosecutors alleged that Bogan was trying to smuggle the bullets, often used by cartels.

"I plan on saying nothing but hugging him. I just miss him, I wanna hold him, I haven't held him in seven months so, I'm ready," said Bogan's girlfriend.

Bogan and his family have stood by their story from the start, that it was an honest mistake.

"I'm excited; between excited and being numb. You know, cause I wanna see him, I wanna touch him and I have a lot to say," said Bogan's mother, Aletha Smith.

"We're hopeful to be able to see Jabin today but as of right now, nothing new to inform you," said Smith's attorney, Larry Taylor.

There is no word on exactly when Bogan will be released.
