Crosses Stir Up Debate

EL PASO, Texas —

A lawsuit over the use of crosses in Las Cruces' city logo moved up the appeals court ladder.

The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case next Monday. A KFOX reported how a Las Cruces resident sued the city, saying the symbol violates the Constitution's separation of church and state, by using Christian crosses on documents and property paid for by taxpayers.

Las Cruces is Spanish for "The Crosses."
