EL PASO, TX —

In the Crime of the Week, police are asking for the public’s help in finding the people responsible for a violent robbery at an east El Paso convenience store.

On Saturday, January 19, at 11:30 p.m., a person was walking into a Valero store at Montwood and Lee when a man asked the victim to use his cell phone.

The victim was reluctant but allowed the man to use his phone.

The suspect then ran away and got into silver Hyundai Tiburon with a female passenger inside.

The victim grabbed hold of the car and was dragged until the suspect punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, short, medium build with a bald head and goatee, and wearing a white Southpole sweatshirt under a black jacket.

The female is described as a short, medium-build Hispanic with long hair and a black and white shirt.

If you have any information about the identity of the suspects in this case, contact Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (566-8477), on-line at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org or you can send a text message by entering the key word CRIME1 (no space) plus your tip information, and text it to CRIMES (274637).  You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
