EL PASO, TX —

The El Paso police are asking for the public’s helping in finding a man who allegedly tried to force a teenage girl into his car this summer.

Around 1 p.m. on June 25, a 15-year-old girl was walking home from school on Alameda near Padres when a male suspect stopped his car in front of the girl’s path and asked her if she needed a ride home.

Police said when the girl refused, the man then got out of the car and attempted to push her into the passenger side door.

The girl was able to get away and walked into a nearby business for safety.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s with dark hair and dark complexion. He was wearing a baseball cap, black t-shirt and clear eyeglasses. He was driving a white four-door compact car, possibly with a leather interior and a rosary hanging from the rear view mirror.

If you have any information at all about the identity of the suspect in this case, please contact Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (566-8477), on-line at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org or you can send a text message by entering the key word CRIME1 (no space) plus your tip information, and text it to CRIMES (274637). You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
