SAN ELIZARIO, Texas —

A man who local authorities said is wanted for a violent assault that happened in 2012 in San Elizario is featured in this week's Manhunt Monday.

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are looking for Jose Alberto Rivera, 35, in connection with an assault on Feb. 25, 2012, in San Elizario.

Deputies said Rivera, who was armed at the time, along with an accomplice, threatened and assaulted a man outside of an apartment complex.

The victim was able to escape after flagging down someone for help, said deputies.

Rivera's accomplice was captured the next day at a port of entry. Deputies said the man told him the assault was drug-related and that Rivera had fled to Juarez.

Rivera is described as 6 feet tall, 310 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, a medium complexion and a large build. He has tattoos on his chest of a sun; the names "Janet," "Karla," and "Humberto Joshua Anthony;" and the phrase "Yo Tengo Una Esperanza." He also has tattoos on his right arm of two female clowns, prison towers and a clock reading 1:21.

This is the third time Rivera is featured in Manhunt Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-8477. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their tip leads to an arrest.
