Crews Fight Fire At Chihua’s Tacos In East El Paso

Related

EL PASO, Texas —

For most of Sunday the Borderland was under a red flag warning meaning a high potential for fire danger, and because of that, fire crews worked hard to douse the flames at a restaurant in east El Paso.

Viewers called the KFOX newsroom and told us they could see flames shooting from the Chihua’s Tacos building. Once firefighters arrived on scene they said they could see smoke billowing out of the roof.

Fire leaders said unattended cooking sparked the blaze in the kitchen.

The fire caused $80,000 in damages to the roof and kitchen area.
