"It’s an emotional struggle. It's a never ending nightmare for me," said customer Amanda Carpio.

Carpio accuses the body shop’s owner, Cesar R. Lopez, of keeping her car since September, cashing her insurance checks, but not finishing work on her vehicle.

“For me, it’s a cruel. It’s a cruel thing to do to people and they've been doing this to more than one person," Carpio said.

Carpio’s complaints come after another customer accused the body shop of using his car without permission. He said he found his car in an apartment complex parking lot with a gun inside.

KFOX cameras caught a police officer taking reports from a number of angry customers in front of CRL Tuesday. The complaints come after a number of others have made it to the El Paso County Attorney.

"To date there have been five individuals, five citizens that have come forward and filed police complaints," said El Paso County Attorney JoAnne Bernal. "They say they’ve taken their car to be repaired and they haven't either received their car back at all or they haven't received their car in a timely basis, or they haven't received their car back and the work that was done was substandard."

Bernal said she is reviewing the reports and could pursue civil or criminal charges against Lopez.

"I don't understand how they can stay in business when it's wrong," Carpio said.
