The ceiling caved in at the 1000 block of Warwick Street.

"On this side of town, it was raining pretty hard. But we wouldn't have thought this was gonna happen," said Nichole Velarde.

Velarde and her mother have been staying with her grandparents since Sunday night after it happened.

"I was talking to her on the phone when this fell. I just heard something fall when the ceiling fell," said Velarde.

When they came back home to assess the damage, they realized the water came in hard and fast especially in the back rooms.

"In my room, everything was wet. My bed was wet and all my stuff," said Velarde.

They moved all the furniture out of the back rooms. Velarde even showed KFOX that the walls seem to be water logged.

Velarde said the roof blew off first. The shingles ended up here in the front yard. She says after the roof flew off, it only took about an hour before the ceiling collapsed and it looks like it's not over.

"We're scared that it's going to keep raining and it's going to keep falling. We don't want to stay here," said Velarde.

For now, the family is waiting for the insurance adjuster to come see the property and start the process. They say they don't know how long it will take for their lives to get back to normal.
