City of Socorro names new fire chief

SOCORRO, Texas —
Jim C. Langborg is set as fire chief for the city of Socorro in December.
On Wednesday, Socorro city officials said their first pick, Patrick Kelly, was no longer an option as fire chief because negotiations failed.
Langborg served as fire chief for the Templeton Fire Department in California since 2007, according to his resume.
He was among the four finalists who were approved by City Council early October.
Langborg is set to start on Dec. 17.
