City Rep. Champions Bike Path For The Blind

November 27, 2006 —

Just days after being sued for allegedly owning a restaurant that's not handicap accessible, El Paso city Rep. Alejandro Lozano is championing a bicycle path for the blind.

He said it would be located at the park behind the multi-purpose center off Hawkins.

There a new jogging path was put in place over the summer and Lozano said providing safety measures to keep the bikers out of traffic would have to be installed.. But once done, it ould make the only bike path for the blind in the United States.

Lozano brushed off concerns about a lawsuit recently filed against him by Carl Star that claims his restaurant in East-Central El Paso does not provide handicap-accessible entry.
