City Of El Paso Offering To Help Residents With Home Repairs

EL PASO, Texas —

The City of El Paso's Department of Community and Human Development Housing Programs Divisions said they are offering qualifying residents help with essential home repairs.

Home repairs included any type of electrical, plumbing, heating or cooling issues.

The city said they can help low-income residents by offering low interest loans of 3 percent and forgivable loans up to $65,000 that can be repaid or deferred over 30 years.

The loans can also be used for energy conservation, accessibility or lead hazard control.

In order to qualify: · You must own and have occupied the house for a minimum of three years prior to applying for assistance. · Your home must be within El Paso city limits. · Your home value cannot exceed $121,000 after repairs. · The house must be in repairable condition. · Your family income and size must fall within the following guidelines;

The annual household income may not exceed the following guidelines Family Size Maximum Income 1 Person $26,050 2 Persons $29,800 3 Persons $33,500 4 Persons $37,200 5 Persons $40,200
