City Contract For Cameras Gets The Green Light

July 26, 2006 —

The City of El Paso has given the green light to the contract for a vendor for the redlight cameras.

The information was just released on Wednesday, but a police spokesman said the contract with redflex traffic systems was official on Monday.

It's a one-year agreement with the option to extend the contract for another five years.

The cameras are expected to be installed and operational within 90 days at 10 intersections around town.
