EL PASO, Texas —

Getting around the city may get a lot easier for some as the city announced a new ride-sharing program.

The city contracted with iCarpool, which allows users to be matched with riders based on similar commutes.

Enrollment in the program is free and is not limited to city employees.

Users can customize dates and times for the program to allow flexible coordination of rides, and iCarpool can be used on smartphones and social networking sites.

The City of El Paso's Economic Development and Sustainability Division is available to help employees sign up for iCarpool. For more information contact Eloisa Portillo-Morales at 915-472-3831 or Lauren Baldwin at 915-208-9693, or send an email to energy@epasotexas.gov.

To sign up for the program, visit elpaso.icarpool.com.
