Church Flooded After Pipe Burst

EL PASO, Texas —

A Central El Paso church found itself in a soggy situation Thursday.

Overnight workers at the church discovered water covered the floors throughout much of the building.

Firefighters said a pipe burst in the church's wall, causing hundreds of gallons to rush out.

"I was leaving and I'm walking by here and I saw a bunch of water and I was like, 'Oh, something is wrong here,' and I would say in about 45 minutes it was able to flood pretty much all of the church," said arishioner Jeremy Rocha.

Firefighters stayed on the scene for almost two hours trying to vacuum out the water.
