EL PASO, Texas —

Thursday afternoon, police dispatchers reported a pedestrian accident involving a child in west El Paso.

El Paso Independent School District police officers arrived at the intersection of Redd and Helen of Troy roads around 3:30 p.m.

At the scene, deputies told KFOX14 the child did not have the right of way when a car struck him.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said deputies.
