Child Crisis Center Gets Early Gifts

Some local kids enjoy an early holiday celebration.

Sun Metro employees collected presents this month and Wednesday they were delivered in a decorated Sun Metro trolley to the Child Crisis Center.

“These young mothers are just struggling, trying to find a job, trying to find a minimum wage, trying to feed their children trying to take care of their children and they can't afford Christmas and so what we're able to do with this donation is to make sure these children do have Christmas, Christmas morning," said Al Velarde of the Child Crisis Center.

The children also enjoyed a thanksgiving dinner prepared by the culinary arts program at El Paso Community College.
