Las Cruces police arrested Finney, a child care worker, on Friday after learning that he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 4-year-old girl under his care.
The incident was reported to police shortly after 8 a.m. on Friday by the girl's mother.
Finney is currently held at the Dona Ana County detention center with a bond set at $35,000.
