Update: Bridge of the Americas traffic back to normal
Suspicious package found inside a vehicle, CBP officials say
U.S. Customs and Border Protection
EL PASO, Texas —
A suspicious package was found inside a vehicle around noon at the Bridge of the Americas Thursday.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers said the vehicle came from Mexico.
Traffic was at a stop in both directions until 1:10 p.m. when CBP officials deemed the package as non-threatening.
The El Paso Police Department bomb squad was called in to assist.
