After a man drove his car into a rock wall, El Paso police found a reason to be suspicious of the car involved.
The accident happened early Monday morning at Lomaland and Adauto when a man driving a Honda Prelude crashed into the wall after rounding a bend.
According to police, the driver ditched the car and ran away.
While officers were looking for the man driving the newer-model Honda, they discovered that the car's license plates were supposed to belong to a 1988 Cadillac.
Police apprehended the man a short time later.
They are now looking into whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, and if the car is stolen or unregistered.
