A business owner told KFOX14 News that Desert Agave Builders owes him and a number of other workers thousands and thousands of dollars.

"The payments stopped completely,” the business owner said. “It was just lie after lie. We would call him (the owner) and his phones were off completely. He changed his number on us."

The Desert Agave Business Park in East El Paso was just one of many places KFOX14 News crews looked for the owners, Daniel Gerard and Luz Alvarez.

The business owner said he did air conditioning work in that business park and several homes for Desert Agave. He said that he’s been trying to contact Gerard and Alvarez for months about payment, but no one will return his calls.

In total, the business owner said the company owes him $24,000. He also said that he almost lost his business because of the loss.

On Friday, KFOX14 News told you about a homeowner, Art Wallace, who said he was left with a number of problems in his Desert Agave home. Wallace also said that the owners of Desert Agave would not return his calls or honor the home warranty.

The County Attorney’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office both said they have no open cases against Gerard or Alvarez.

Desert Agave Builder’s has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
