KFOX News At Nine
Shortly after KFOX News At Nine began its broadcast Saturday night, Mayor Joe Wardy conceded victory to challenger John Cook.
Wardy told KFOX News he had a "good run" and "enjoyed serving" El Paso as mayor.
Election results showed the former Northeast city representative winning by a 51% to 49% margin, or 21,067 votes to 20,003 votes.
Cook becomes the city's first mayor to be elected under the new 4-year term system.
