Interstate 10 was shutdown in one direction after three semitrailers, one RV and one car were involved in a crash near the Sierra Blanca Checkpoint Wednesday morning.

No details are available what caused the crash, but officials told KFOX the car became sandwiched between two of the big rigs.

The crash shut down all of eastbound I-10, which was not expected to reopen until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police officials on the scene said that the speed limit, which is 80 mph in that area, may be to blame for the crash.
