Boy Injured In Early Morning Crash

By Oscar Garcia

EL PASO, Texas —

A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Sunday morning after the car he was in slammed into a police unit.

It happened around 8 a.m. near the Geronimo Street exit in central El Paso.

Investigators say the officer was pulled over and was investigating a separate car accident when the driver of a Ford Mustang ran into the back of the police car.

The boy was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.

He is expected to be just fine.

The driver of the Mustang was cited for various charges.
