Las Cruces police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning of a five-year-old boy.
Witness told KFOX a child noticed the boy's body inside a jacuzzi at an apartment complex at Sonoma Ranch. That's when residents jumped in and tried to revive the boy until paramedics arrived.
"I was just trying to calm the mother down, I was trying to get her away from the situation because she was freaking out so [I tried] to calm her down while they tried to bring life to the child," said witness Pam Pacheco.
The five-year-old boy was pronounced dead at Mountain View Regional Medical Center at 3:45 Sunday afternoon.
