Borderland Residents Deal With Cold, Windy Weather

EL PASO, Texas —

Scattered thunderstorms dropped rain and brought cold, windy weather to the borderland Sunday.

KFOX clocked wind gusts of more than 50 mph.

The National Weather Service received a report of hail in northeast El Paso.

Inclement weather delayed a UTEP softball game Sunday afternoon. But once the game started, spectators bundled up and armed themselves with umbrellas.

"We've learned," said Carlton Lambert. "You come down here, you come prepared."

Graciela Hernandez said she also came prepared for whatever Mother Nature had in store.

"The weather's unstable," said Hernandez. "You never know how the day's going to turn out. Sometimes it's cold. Sometimes it's hot. Sometimes it's windy."

The rainy weather is expected to clear by Monday morning.
